There'll always be a Reason to Worship no matter what!

Watch "Hillsong - Desert Song - With Subtitles/Lyrics" on YouTube

It's already 1:40am and I'm still awake listening to amazing Hillsong Worship songs.

Here is Desert Song! I'm particularly bless with these lyrics:

"All of my life. In every season, You are still GOD and I have a reason to worship."

Premium Rush starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Watched Premium Rush last Saturday and this movie live up to its Title. I and my friends were literally catching our breath during the "running after scenes" adding the element of danger as he can anytime crash into any car.

It also makes autre to touch the hearts of the sentimental ones by adding the story of a Mother whose only wish is to see her soon.

Plus as an add-on feature: Joseph gave us a free tour of New York!

I recommend you watch it!

38th Metro Manila Film Festival | Film Entries

It's that time of the year again when we will celebrate Pinoy talents and creativity in film making. Or will we really?

Almost every year, you'd expect a "Panday", a "Shake Rattle and Roll" and an "Enteng Kabisote" and true enough, that's what we get. Seeing the 8 MMFF film entries this year makes you say, "Not again!".

All along I wondered what the real purpose of this festival: is it to showcase Filipino's creativity where the winner can be a great contender as one of the Best Foreign Films in the Oscars? or is this a festival to get money. Even how much we deny it, the latter is what's happening.

Nevertheless, I'd still have high hopes on some other films. I mean we have a Nora Aunor's "El Presidente" and Kris Aquino's and Vice Ganda's "Sisteraka". Hopefully the good ones can outweigh the traditional ones.

Furthermore I expected a Coco Martin film given he's one of the best actors of this generation but now he doesn't. Probably because he's not yet too bankable.

Here are the 8 Official Entries for the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF):

1. “Sisteraka” starring Vice Ganda and Kris Aquino
(Star Cinema in partnership with Viva Films)

2.  “One More Try” starring Angel Locsin, Angelica Panganiban, Dingdong Dantes and Zanjoe Marudo.
(Star Cinema)

3.  “Conyo Problems” starring Aljur Abrenica, Solenn Heussaff, Mikael Daez and Isabelle Daza.
(GMA Films)

4.  “Si Agimat, si Enteng Kabisote and Me” starring Vic Sotto, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Judy Ann Santos
(GMA Films in partnership with OctoArts, M-Zet, APT and Imus Productions)

5.   “Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang” starring Zsa Zsa Padilla, Richard Gomez, Iza Calzado, Rufa Mae Quinto and Paolo Contis.
(TV5 in partnership with Unitel)

6.  “Shake, Rattle and Roll 14″ starring Vhong Navarro, Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, Carla Abellana, Paulo Avelino.
(Regal Films)

7.  “El Presidente” starring Nora Aunor, Cristine Reyes, Cesar Montano and ER Ejercito.
(Scenema Concept International)

8.  “The Strangers” starring Julia Montes, Enrique Gil, and Enchong Dee.

Born To Love You | A Risky Move

Born To Love You starring Coco Martin and Angeline Quinto.
In Cinemas this May 30, 2012.

For me this is a risk for Star Cinema. I know Coco Martin is the most awarded actor of his generation but a Romantic Movie? That's John Lloyd's forte. I also know Angeline is starting to really make waves in the music industry but in a Romantic Movie? I don't know... Chemistry between the two? Maybe Physics.

Seriously though, Coco for me is still starting to develop his romantic side and actually he's getting good at it. I mean who doesn't want to know what's happening between Daniel and Katerina? But to set him up in a romantic movie with a new girl can be a disaster.

As for Angeline, indeed a risky move as well. I remember Sarah Geronimo started with a Movie Soundtrack first and then an MMK with John Lloyd before making a movie. Well the latter proved to be the right ingredients.

And showing it 2 weeks after "Every Breath You Take"? Unbelievable.

I don't know how they decided this but I'm not too positive on the outcome.

What do you think?

Laslas Puso na, Buhis buhay pa!

"The Iron Lady" Movie Review

"The Iron Lady" Movie Review
Review:

If you're not into pure dialogues and speeches then I'm pretty sure you'll doze off watching the movie. It's more like a historical documentary sort of thing. However if there's one thing you need to look forward to: it's Meryl Streep's acting. Her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher is simply remarkable and outstanding! I cannot imagine somebody else doing what she has achieved.

Here are some great quotes that I have learned from the movie:

"It used  to be about trying to do something. Now, it's all about trying to be something."

"One's life must matter. I cannot die washing somebody's teacup."

"Someone must force a point. Someone must say the unsayable."

"Safe and Sound" Taylor Swift from The Hunger Games Soundtrack

"Safe and Sound"
Lyrics and Video
Taylor Swift featuring The Civil Wars
from The Hunger Games Soundtrack

Check out the trailer here: The Hunger Games Trailer

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I’ll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, “Don’t leave me here alone”
But all that’s dead and gone and passed tonight
Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound
Don’t you dare look out your window darling
Everything’s on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music’s gone, gone
Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound
Just close your eyes
You’ll be alright
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, with a screenplay by Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 23.5 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following. It has spent more than 160 consecutive weeks/more than three consecutive years to date on The New York Times bestseller list since its publication in September 2008, and has also appeared consistently on USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists.

"The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" Movie Review

"The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"

Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her beloved uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) and the tattooed and troubled but resourceful computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) to investigate. When the pair link Harriets disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from almost forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vangers are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves.

Movie Review:

The film starts with establishing the background of the movie, creating the foundation for Michael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander. It maybe a little boring bur don't miss out on details or else you'll regret being confused in the latter part of the film. Anyhow one the film's done establishing the characters, it then started to accelerate that you can't help but be glued to the movie screen to never miss out on any detail or any information. You'll be catered to an investigative/detective search for the young girl Harriet who has been lost for 40 years.I don't need to mention the cold background, the "no talking to each other" family and even the media war behind because the investigation and the search is enough to satisfy the eyes. You'll continue asking who? what happened? and even near then end when you thought that's it you'd end up asking WHAT!!!???!?!?!

Such a titillating story that can make you wonder up to the end.

Actors:

Noomi Rapace may not be the winner especially with big names against her nevertheless, her presence and character is evident in every scene of the film. It's amazing to know she was able to portrayu a very difficult character indeed.

If you're ready for mind blowing search, then this movie is for you!

"The Descendants" Movie Review

"The Descendants"

From Alexander Payne, the creator of the Oscar-winning "Sideways", set in Hawaii, The Descendants movie 2011 is a sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic journey for Matt King (George Clooney) an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki. The event leads to a rapprochement with his young daughters while Matt wrestles with a decision to sell the family's land handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries.

Movie Review:

The movie has been crafted very nicely that while watching you'll be surprised to find yourself searching, fighting and trying with the protagonist himself, Matt King. You'll start to feel what he feels about the situation. You cry when he found out, you struggle raising the two kids, you get irritated with the daughter's "boyfriend" and you feel helpless in front of your father in law thinking "If only I can tell you the truth...". And honestly it's all about "How I wish I can speak what I feel...".

Even with the dramatic background of the story, the film has not failed to add also funny and entertaining scenes: kissing the wife, hiding from the bushes, the daughter's boyfriend you'd want to kill grrrr. Lol!

It ends with Matt King standing for what he believes in. Not allowing to be pushed by the co-descendants but to speak loudest as possible. I think that's the best way to wrap it.

Actors:

George Clooney is a shoo in for Best Actor. He's splendid! He was able to portray the loving and indifferent father and the confused and angry husband and the helpless descendant ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

"Sid" is amazing as well. He maybe just a supporting actor but he played his role very well. He's one of the characters you'd want to look forward to. You'd start hating him as in really hating him and then you'd see him grow (for whatever reason) you'd be happy and start liking him. Believe me, he's fun to watch.

Overall, go ahead and WATCH IT! Worth it!
